2019-2020 Important Dates


  • Registration & Instrument Fitting - August 6th, 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. - Registration for everyone who hasn't already mailed it in, and Intrument Fitting for all Beginner Band students. Meet in the Franklin Band room at Shorter University in the Fine Arts Building. All woodwind and brass instruments will be demonstrated. Your beginner student will get a chance to try some out to see where they might fit best.

  • Strings Audition Day - August 20th, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. - Audition is required for all new students seeking to be enrolled in any Strings classes above the Beginner level. Current students seeking advancement in the Strings classes will be auditioned, as well. All auditions will be held in the Fine Arts building at Shorter University. Please be on time. Contact Tracey to sign up for an audition time through our contact page.

  • Band Audition Day - August 20th, beginning at 12:30 p.m. - Audition is required for all new students seeking to be enrolled in Intermediate Band and Advanced Band. Current students seeking advancement to the Advanced Band class will be auditioned, as well. All auditions will be held in the Fine Arts building at Shorter University. Please be on time.   • Please sign up and pay registration fees by August 20th. Information you'll need to know and the Registration Form can be found here. Some class sizes are limited. Please sign up early.

  • Fall Semester - August 27-November 19  Our classes meet on Tuesday's.

  • Fall break, no classes - October 8

  • Fall Performance - Friday, November 22nd at 7:00 in Brookes Chapel at Shorter University, reception following

  • Spring Semester - January 14-May 12

  • Spring Break, no classes - March 3

  • No classes (finals week at Shorter University) - April 28

  • Spring Performance - date tba in Brookes Chapel at Shorter University, reception following
