To register for the 2017-2018 school year, print this Registration Form and mail it with your check. Some classes are limited in size, so please register early in order to get the classes you want. In lieu of mailing the form, you may bring your completed Registration Form and fee to the Instrument Fitting/Auditions to be held on tbd at Shorter University.

Things you need to know before you register this year:

  • AUDITIONS – There will be auditions for Intermediate Band and Intermediate and Advanced Beginner Strings students during the Instrument Fitting schedule. When you arrive, check in with Tracey Maddox (she will be near the band room, across from room 212). She will give you instruction from there. Please make arrangements to be available on that date. Please be on time. Audition is required for all new students seeking to be enrolled in these programs.
  • Register for the class you HOPE to take. After auditions, you will be placed in the appropriate class for your skill level. We understand that this might mean your schedule might change. Practicing through the summer is the best way to ensure that you make the class you want.

At Joyful Noise Homeschool Music Program we take very seriously the dual responsibility of being fiscally responsible while taking into account the needs of our home educated families.

In keeping with that philosophy, we keep our fees as low as possible without sacrificing the quality of our music education experience.

  • Registration Fee - This fee is due at the time of registration. It is non-refundable and non-transferable. Your place in class is not guaranteed unless the registration fee has been paid. Please register early.
  • Parent Fee - We welcome parent participation, whether you played in school or always wanted to! Parents never pay tuition, only the registration fee.
  • Tuition Fees - These fees vary by class. Please see the Registration form (link at top of this page) for fee schedule. Registration fees are payable immediately upon acceptance into the program. Tuition Fees are due in full the first day of class. However, they may be paid in full upon enrollment, or may be paid by using the following payment plan:  50% of tuition to be paid by the first day of class, and the remaining 50% is due by the first class after fall break. If there is some difficulty in paying on time, please speak with Tracey; we will make every effort to work with you. If you drop out, you are still required to pay the balance of your tuition. The only exceptions would include the following:  moving more than 50 miles away, a death in the immediate family, or a parent’s loss of a job.
  • Multiple Child Discount - To keep the program affordable for all, families with more than three students enrolled in a particular class will only be charged for two tuition fees for that class. For example, if you have three students in Beginner Band, you will only pay tuition for two, but registration fees for all three.
  • To determine your annual cost of music education you should also include your personal costs for instrument rental or purchase, music books, and a music stand, as well as disposable materials such as reeds, cleaning kit, valve oil, strings, etc.
